*ding!* *ding!* *ding!* *ding!* Today's epiphany is.....:
Stuff is just stuff.... and too much stuff ties you down. I'm moving today and chose to leave a lot of stuff in storage, for practical reasons such as not having a lot of space in the car.... but really - I just don't need it! It feels soo good. I was pretty stressed out about all the stuff... until now.

Now my favorite past-time is throwing things away. And I'm not just talking material things either... ;)

Fri, August 6, 2004 - 1:53 AMHope your move goes smoothly. It's a brilliant opportunity to assess your relationship with your objects.
The idea of having a tiny number of possessions is very attractive to me. I'm half-way there, but not far enough. I'm thinking of giving away all my books (100's of them). This would be a big test. Letting go of the objects I most value. Say bye bye to all those hours and thoughts and dreams that each book and me shared. In the future, each time I get a new book, once I've read it - I give it away. There really are only a dozen or so that i read again.
Same with CD's. Rip them to MP3 files, then give the original media away or sell them.
My test is this. Aside from furniture, I want to be able to fit everything into my car. If I can't do it easily, it goes.
